Saint Lucia’s musical landscape is as rich and vibrant as its cultural heritage. Each year, the island’s artistes release a bevy of musicaldelights on a variety of local and regional beats, referred to as “riddims.”

In Saint Lucia, Calypso is a crowd generating spectacle. With over 145 registered Calypsonians, this genre is utilized as a social commentary tool, wherein Calypsonians weave tales of tragedy and triumph, fiscal hardships and personal breakthroughs. Each tent produces songs to be judged during the semi, quarter and finals rounds of the annual Calypso Monarch Competition.
